APPLE ARE CONFIDENT IN iPHONE!!!
Apple have made a declarative statement that the iPhone is the future of gaming devices – unlike the DS and the PSP.
They are basing this on a number of things; the ease of use, due to the item being a phone, the cheapness of the games (currently RRPing at around £5) and the fact that the graphic power is greater than that of the current gaming consoles.
Alarm bells start ringing here – everyone is aware that the PSP has better graphics than the DS, and yet it still has lower sales. As the Apple Marketing executive Joswiak blabs on about the graphical quality, I see the desperation in the argument. The problem as I see it is that the iPhone does not yet have the brand trust that Nintendo have with their consumers (built up over many years), and so has to make it’s case via technological advancements instead.
In the interview, Joswiak closes by saying that the iPhone’s unique selling point is it’s portability unlike the other gaming consoles.
Apparently, Apple beamed him in directly from their 1970’s marketing team.
