Anyone who loves Guillermo Del Toro’s movies will have whooped with excitement when they found out that he was set to direct the new Tolkien film, The Hobbit.

The Hobbit, to those who are unsure, is a prequel to the Lord of the Rings series. The films have hugely increased the popularity of the books and so there is much anticipation surrounding the new film.

Apparently his biggest challenge so far has been creating Smaug (the villainous dragon in the book ‘The Hobbit’). Del Toro stated that “what we’re going to attempt on the design of this creature and the creation of this creature needs to push the envelope beyond anything you’ve ever seen on that kind of creature”.

Well, if ‘Pale Man’ from Pans Labyrinth is anything to go by, I’m 100% sure you’re going to scare the heck out of me as usual, Guillermo.
