I hate it when I’m right.

Quantum of Solace has topped the US Box Office, selling $70.4 million in North American theatres in it’s opening weekend. It just goes to show that the new Bond (Daniel Craig) has been well and truly accepted. In fact, this new style of Bond film they made – first shown in Casino Royale – has also seemed to be a gamble which has paid off.

As I feared though, the hype seems to have disproportionately heightened peoples appreciation of the new 007 flick. Critics wrote scathing reviews, stating that “filmmakers strayed too far from the franchise’s signature story elements”. Without giving too much away, the storyline is centred around James seeking revenge for the death of a lover.

Well you have to admit it’s strange. He’s never had any trouble getting over them before. Or under them for that matter.
