Capcom’s popular Zombie fest Dead Rising has won its lengthy court battle with the makers of the Dawn of the Dead after the latter claimed that the former stole their idea of a Shopping Mall based Zombie scenario.

The claim got shot down by Judge Richard Seeborg who basically said that Capcom where original in their vision of Zombies in a mall.

Um, quite clearly if Dawn of the Dead had never been released then Dead Rising wouldn’t exist.

So it seems that the answer to the question of whether or not they stole the idea lies somewhere in the above sentence.
