Hellboy 2 Director Guillermo del Toro is to direct a stop-motion animated version of Roald Dahl’s classic “The Witches”.

Not sure where this film fits on del Toro’s schedule, it’s definitely after The Hobbit but the guy has been linked with so many projects at the moment it’s hard to see when he can devote the necessary time and resources.

Originally del Toro was going to produce with Harry Potter 3′s Alfonso Cuaron directing.

Don’t be surprised if del Toro announces another step back into the producer’s booth when excitement levels grow and pressure is applied by the studios to get the project into production.
