The latest addition to the Nintendo family, the DSi has surpassed 500,00 sales in Japan, which is almost as high as it’s predescessor the DS Lite. This development pushes up the DS platform’s sales to over 24 million in total.

The updates to the DSi, for those Nintendo nerds who are potentially interested in buying one (incidentally RRPing at around £100), are it’s new flexibility to take photos, play music and videos and download games.

I know what you’re thinking. Why the heck doesn’t it make phone calls?
