Xmas 07 was a season to forget for those mighty beings at Microsoft Live.  Their system was exposed badly by crashes due to the “unforeseen” volume of new Xbox Live subscribers who swamped the system looking for a game of Halo 3.

Can we expect the same thing to happen this year?

According to Aaron Greenberg, who is some suit from Microsoft, no.

This is what he had to say; “We are well prepared for the type of growth we expect this holiday, we’ve built a lot of infrastructure, a lot of behind the curtain no one sees.”

Mmm, okay, so far so good, your typical business jargon…

And then he followed that up with this next less than confident quip…

“Knock on wood we will hopefully not have any issues,”

Knock on wood?

I’ll say it again, knock on wood?

Is that the business strategy that industry giant Microsoft have been applying all these years?  The old knock on wood approach?

The guy is an idiot.
