Microsoft aware of Xbox 360′s Faults Before Release!
Any Xbox users out there who have suffered their fate at the hands of the 360′s trick of damaging discs? It’s been affectionatly labelled the “disc scratching fault”, which is just peachy. You pay £40 for a game – which these days isn’t exactly easy to come by, due to economic circumstances – only for your lovely console to go and destroy it.
If that doesn’t make you angry, then this will. Microsoft knew about the fault before the product was put on the market, according to gamesindustry.biz. It happened during reorientation, and program manager Hiroo Umeno admits that Microsoft discovered the problem back in ’05 and they knew what was causing it. There has been a lawsuit over the issue since 2007, which is still being resolved.
Either way, I’m pretty sure it hasn’t won Microsoft any points with consumers, which in the current climate could be a fatal mistake. Let it be the last, Mr Gates.
…Yeah, right.
