Green Hornet Loses Its Director!

Stephen Chow will not be directing The Green Hornet though the Kung Fu star will still be appearing as Kato.

The reason for Chow giving up the directors chair was because of the famous “creative differences” excuse.

I’ll still be very surprised if this film ever makes it to cinemas, the whole project just feels like something I’m never going to see…

  1. Why? says:

This is actually good news. The rats are leaving the sinking ship and Rogans 15 min of fame are waning. He has brought about a totally wrong approach to this character and film. Sony indicated they wanted a franchise film, something they could go back to for part 2 and 3 and no one is interested in even the first film. Rogens approach, his constant dissing of the character and fans of the character not to mention his past films coming in under expectations have lead to this. We in the Hornet world have said it a thousand times, we don’t want a comedy made of this character or franchise. We don’t want a mockery made of Kato, Miss Case or the Black Beauty. Update the character and film , Yes, but don’t disrespect what has already been done by making a mockery of the film. Perhaps Chow has seen this and wants no part of direction this. Perhaps Chow has seen the script and sees there is no way for success hence his removing himself as director.
