This is just a rumor at the moment but the talk buzzing around the internet is that there could be a brand new Grand Theft Auto game released this year and we’re not talking about downloadable content.

The word currently doing the rounds is that it will be a full retail game set in Tokyo.

This would actually make sense on a lot of levels.  Another GTA is basically a license to print money and if the game is released in November that would make it 18 months since the last GTA, which is a more than reasonable timeframe to turn a game around in.

If these rumors are indeed true it will mark the first time that GTA have gone international since the 2D London game was released way back in the 90′s.

Setting it in Tokya would almost certainly involve the Triads in a big way.

Fingers crossed it is true then eh?
