Rumors are beginning to circulate that Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed 2 will not hit retail until the end of the 2010 fiscal year.

After the original split reviewers down the middle with its gorgeous graphics and repetitive gameplay, many expected the sequel to hit the shelves this year.

Games Industry expert Mark “Pac Attack” patcher is responisble for the prediction, and he also predicted that the next Splinter Cell would be released at roughly the same time.

Assassin’s Creed 2 is one game I am really looking forward to.  The original is the best looking multi-platform game I have seen and although I too found it repetitive, it was fun.  I expect the sequel to improve on everything and be a more complete game.

Not being able to play it this year is a bit of a bitch but at least they’re not rushing it.
