Billy Bob Thornton claims that he was in talks to play Tony Stark before Marvel took the Downey Jr direction.

Speaking to MTV the actor said…

“They talked to me about Iron Man for just a minute – just for a minute”

Just for a minute eh?  We all know that in Hollywood a minute is equal to a couple of weeks in the real world.

But what if he had become Iron Man?

Would it have been the success it was?

If you remember he was offered the role of the Green Goblin in the original Spiderman movie.  Now that would have worked I’m sure, but Iron Man?

They shouldn’t have even talked to him for a second.
