A film about football.

Alarm bells already start ringing in my head. The idiots who made Bend it Like Beckham to create a hideous piece of filmography (worsened by the acting of one pouty mouthed madam) have ruined what little appeal it held for me.

However, I could be about to eat my words (again).

Brand new footie film The Damned United sees Michael Sheen in the “motormouthed” form of managerial legend Brian Clough. The film tells the story of the end of Clough’s successful stint as Derby manager. This includes his somewhat bitter days in charge of Leeds United in 1974 – which one can only assume the title refers to.
