Nicolas Cage has signed up for Ghost Rider 2.

The original Ghost Rider, released in 2007, took an impressive $229 million in worldwide box office gross, despite being considered somewhat shit.

Personally I thought the movie was okay.  Yeah, it was a bit weak at times and Cage wasn’t the best choice for Johnny Blaze but overall the movie was enjoyable.

I always figured that anymore Ghost Rider movies would either be animations or straight to DVD properties.  I never once thought they’d do a sequel with Cage reprising his role.  A reboot maybe but a sequel, I didn’t see that coming.

It’s common knowledge that Cage is a huge Ghost Rider fan and obviously he’s the one who has been campaigning for the sequel.

Though I would have like to see a different actor to play the demon biker I’m just happy that there’s going to be a sequel.

After all, any Ghost Rider movie is better than none.
