New Tomb Raider Movie!
It seems that Warner Bros. have decided to reboot the Tomb Raider franchise and are apparently looking to do so without Angelina Jolie. Is this good news or bad news? I don’t know… I suppose it’s good news if, like me, you felt the first two Tomb Raider movies were shit. They felt like straight to DVD movies which happened to have big budgets. With the slow decline in popularity of Lara Croft’s exploits in the gaming world, a new movie which is darker in tone could be just what the iconic Miss Croft needs to get herself back in the limelight. If they take a darker, grittier approach then a new Tomb Raider movie…
New Futuristic Samson and Delilah Movie Planned!
Fox have acquired the rights to Samson, a futuristic retelling of the biblical Samson and Delilah story. I am Legend director Francis Lawrence will helm the project while 8 Mile scriptwriter Scott Silver will take up writing duties. How cool is this. A futuristic Samson and Delilah? I can’t believe how excited I am. Setting the story of the invicible Samson in the future is absolutely genius. I can see it now, Samson kicking all kinds of ass in the opening five minutes. Kind of like the opening scene of the terminator with Samson crushing the skulls of his fallen foes with his size tens as lazer blasts fill the apocolyptic night sky… I want…
A-Team For 2010?
It looks like the A-Team movie could be with us sooner than you think. Smoking Aces director Joe Carnahan has signed on to bring the eighties icon back to the silver screen with the help of both Tony and Ridley Scott as producers. Hitman screenwriter, Skip Woods has been attached to pen the script. Originally John Singleton was going to direct but he pulled out of the project last year and since then the movie has been in limbo. But now, finally, the boys are coming back. No news yet as to who the cast will be but expect that to change quite quickly in the coming months as A-Team rumors will hit fever pitch….
The Damned United Trailer Released!
A film about football. Alarm bells already start ringing in my head. The idiots who made Bend it Like Beckham to create a hideous piece of filmography (worsened by the acting of one pouty mouthed madam) have ruined what little appeal it held for me. However, I could be about to eat my words (again). Brand new footie film The Damned United sees Michael Sheen in the “motormouthed” form of managerial legend Brian Clough. The film tells the story of the end of Clough’s successful stint as Derby manager. This includes his somewhat bitter days in charge of Leeds United in 1974 – which one can only assume the title refers to. The trailer can…
Wii Fit Is Still Number One!
Wii Fit is still number one in the games chart for the “UK All Formats”, and it’s only been on the market for 9 months according to gamesindustry.biz. It’s hardly surprising. The popularity of the Fit stems from the fact that it’s accessible to all ages/genders. The sales figures are still good – the fitness title rose 21 per cent, holding off Activision’s Call of Duty: World at War at number two. In other games, the highest new entry this week comes from EA’s Skate 2, ahead of the publisher’s other titles FIFA 09 and Lord of the Rings: Conquest. Mario Kart Wii re-enters the charts at eight this week, and renewed stock of Professor…
