More Talk of PSP 2!
Even with all the troubles that Sony is suffering (losing sales to Microsoft’s Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii amongst things) they are still continuing to talk about the new version of the PSP…the PSP2. There has been rumours for a while that a successor to the PSP would be released after 2010, following a seperate update to the current PSP model. The latest rumour about the new model is that the PSP 2 will feature a widescreen display and touch sensitive technology. Sony has already updated the PSP since its release back in 2005 – namely with the Slim & Lite and PSP 3000 models. The console’s current RRP is £149.99 for a bundle deal….
New Godfather 2 – Extortion Trailer!
Here’s the new trailer for the upcoming Godfather 2 which hits stores on Xbox 360 and Ps3 from February 27th. So, what do you think, huh? Huh? Scumbag… Sorry, got a bit carried away there. Anyway, it looks like extortion will play quite a big part in how your character interacts with the world. Not sure if I’m looking forward to this one, the first game was a pretty bland sandbox experience for me and this one looks like more of the same. I’m thinking a rental maybe? Tweet This Post
Gears of War The Movie Like Lord Of The Rings?
There’s a Gears of War movie on the way, well actually there’s three of them. Underworld producer and Die Hard 4.0 director Len Wisman had this to say on the project… “The hope is that we’re wanting to do a three movies and really cover the bases on everything. Basically a harder edged Lord Of The Rings.” A harder edged Lord Of The Rings? Mmm, has he even played Gears of War? Doesn’t sound like it to me. Call me pessimistic but things don’t look good for the movie adaptation of Gears. To even use Lord Of The Rings in the same sentence shows the guy knows nothing about the Gears universe. I mean, I’ve…
New Mortal Kombat Game?
Midway have announced that after the phenomenal sales of Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe, which has so far sold 1.8 million copies, they will be releasing another Mortal Kombat game. “Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe was the result of countless hours of hard work by many people, and seeing the game surpass the million-seller plateau makes it worth all the effort,” said Ed Boon, Mortal Kombat co-founder and creative director, Midway. “We’re already hard at work on our next version of Mortal Kombat, and look forward to being able to reveal more details in the future.” No news yet if it will be a stand alone game or another vs but rest assured, whatever they…
Video Games Kick Ass In 2008!
Video game sales had an amazing 2008 outselling both DVD’s and Blu-ray’s. Taking a whopping 53% of the home entertainment market, video games are finally begining to punch their own weight. No longer can video games be considered a niche market when as an Industry, it’s equal to, if not greater than the movie industry. These latest figures only serve to legitimaze the video games industry. 53% of the home entertainment industry equates to a cool 61 million dollars. These figures come from Media Control Gfk International, who in my opinion, have too much time on their hands. With DVD sales slowly declining as the medium gets less desirable, more people will look to adopt…
