Next Batman Movie In 2011?
Batman Begins And Dark Knight executive producer Michael Uslan expects the third Batman movie to hit theatres in 2011. Uslan, who will reprise his duties as executive producer for the third movie expects to go into production next year. And who will be the villain? “It’s one of those deals where if I told you, I would have to kill you” he said when asked… Have to kill us? That’s pretty strong. But still, now that there’s a provisional date for release you can expect the rumor mill to begin churning at maximum output. Tweet This Post
Green Hornet Cancelled?
It seems that production on the proposed Green Hornet movie has been stopped. Insiders claim that the movie will definitely not go in to production in 2009. No real reasons as of yet have been put forward as to why the film has been red lighted but after Stephen Chow stepped down from the director’s chair, rumors have been rife that the project has been having difficulties. Personally I won’t be too upset if the movie never makes it into production as the approach they were insistent on taking with Green Hornet was one of an action comedy. Green Hornet should not be a comedy and I can’t see anybody on the Internet asking for…
Job Cuts All Over The Place – But Sega Soars!
Wherever I seem to look these days there are jobs being axed all over the place. The games industry is suffering hard and I am continually reading headlines of companies which are having to cut back on their staff. EA are planning to lay-off staff at Black Box, Tiburon and Pandemic – a cut of approx 10% or 1000 people. Eidos, publisher of Tomb Raider are closing their Manchester studio, dedicated to casual games and mobile games. This follows a job cut at Crystal Dynamics, the actual studio in charge of Miss Croft. Microsoft Flight Sim division are cutting 1400 jobs, from the entertainment and devices division. Microsoft is also cutting Xbox 360 jobs by…
PS3 Sales Estimates Are Slashed!
The well known analyst firm Cowen and Company has recently done a report on the Sony PS3, and has consequently reduced its sales expectations after the disappointing sales of the console in 2008. Cowen and Company expects Sony will sell around 4 million units in the US during 2009. This probably doesn’t sound like a lot, but it is down 2.25 million from the previous estimates of 6.25 million units. However, there are expectations that sales will pick up marginally in 2010. The estimates believe there will be 4.5 million units sold in the region. According to data from NPD, the PS3 only sold 3.6 million units in the US during 2008. Doug Creutz of…
Wikipedia Passes Test!
According to a recent test, Wikipedia is about as accurate on science as the Encyclopedia Britannica. Yes, you did read that correctly. According to the BBC, the British journal Nature examined a range of scientific entries on both works of reference and found few differences in accuracy. As everyone here most likely knows, Wikipedia is produced by volunteers who add entries and edit any page. This means, obviously, that it has been viewed somewhat sceptically. Time for a few facts: Wikipedia was founded in 2001 and has since grown to more than 1.8 million articles in 200 languages. Some 800,000 entries are in English. It is based on wikis, open-source software which lets anyone fiddle…
