Plans are in motion to bring Doctor Who to the stage.

The idea is being pitched as a 3D video experience which recreates the wonder of the Doctor Who universe for a live audience.

With big arena shows planned it feels like that Terminator 3D attraction in Universal Studios, where they give you some goggles and wow you with all sorts of crazy 3D special effects.

None of the cast are expected on stage but the thinking is that they will film some exclusive video content for the show and then add all that clever stuff later.

Call me a geek but I just love this idea.
