Ripley Talks Aliens!
Sigourney Weaver has been talking to MTV about the possibilities of another Alien movie.
Apparently the studio execs over at Fox had a script ready that was written by Buffy creator Joss Whedon and was set on Earth.
But Weaver didn’t like it saying, “I have to say, it just really didn’t interest me.”
Seriously, is the woman nuts?
She even admitted that she hadn’t even seen the Aliens Vs Predator movies, though I can excuse her for that, part of me wishes I’d never seen them too, but still, this is Ripley we’re talking about here…
She was, however, open to returning to the character of Ripley saying, “Even in twenty years, if someone came to me and said, ‘This is the story, and it’s a really interesting story using that world’ I’d do it. I think it’s an amazing saga.”
Personally I don’t want to see Ripley back.
For me the Aliens movies have always been about the Aliens and the humans who try to exploit them.
Alien Resurrection touched upon what I want to see; Scientists experimenting with the buggers and then copious amounts of Xenomorphic shit hitting carefully placed fans.
Give me more of that!
It seems that Joss Whedon has the right idea, take them to Earth and let the Aliens run free.
Now there’s an idea you can base a trilogy around.

The suggestion is that he has written a script for a fifth movie which is set on Earth much like Steve Perry’s Earth Hive series of books.
And anyway, if you’re going to get pedantic, it’s Whedon not Wheadon.
Joss Wheadons Script that was set on earth, was the Original Alien Ressurection script. You’d think being so called “Nerds”, that you’d know that.
