The Sci-Fi Channel have announced the casting of Lou Diamond Phillips for its Stargate spin off Stargate Universe.

The series, which is due to premiere in October with a two-hour movie also stars Robert Carlyle.

The casting of Lou Diamond Phillips is definitely interesting, I mean, I haven’t seen the guy since the eighties.

All I remember of him is he had a slightly weird looking face.

Other confirmed cast members are – Ming-Na, Elyse Levesque, Alaina Huffman, Justin Louis, David Blie, Jamil Walker Smith and Brian J. Smith.

The series will be written by Stargate veterans Brad Wright and Robert Cooper.
