Eddie Murphy looks set to play his hero Richard Pryor in an upcoming biopic about the iconic stand up comedian who actually inspired Eddie Murphy to pursue a career in comedy.

Murphy is reportedly so keen to play his hero that he has waved his usual 8 figure fee to guarantee the role.

We all know that Eddie Murphy can act, if you don’t believe me just watch Dream Girls, so to see him so eager to sign up to this movie has gotten me excited.

Can anyone else hear the words  “And the Oscar for best actor is…”

Rumors that Murphy is going to play the entire cast are, as yet, unfounded.

The movie, which is titled Richard Pryor: Was it something I said, will go into production in the summer.
