Spider-man 2 star Alfred Molina, who played Doctor Octopus, is to play Horvath, an evil magician in Disney’s upcoming The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.

Molina will join Nicholas Cage in the Jerry Bruckenheimer produced movie.

The Sorcerer’s Apprentice tells the tale about a college student who becomes an apprentice for Nicholas Cage’s sorcerer, who together must fight against evil in New York City.

Think Harry Potter meets the Karate Kid.

The Sorcerer’s Apprentice is from the same team behind the Pirates of the Caribbean and National Treasure.
