EA Redwood Shores General Manager, Glen Schofield has been talking about the upcoming Wii exclusive Dead Space Extraction.

The game takes place about three weeks before the original Dead Space begins which generally means that we get to play through and experience all the shit hitting the fan.

He also promised lots of different weapons for the game plus the return of the Flamethrower.

I’m still kinda bummed that Dead Space Extraction is an on rails shooter.  The whole appeal of the Xbox 360 and Ps3 original for me was the atmosphere that exploring the claustrophobic Ishimura invoked.

Replacing the exploration for frantic blaster action isn’t my idea of a good Dead Space spin-off.
