No More EA Lord Of The Rings Games!

Electronic Arts will not be publishing any more Lord of the Rings games according to Variety.

The licensing deal ran out at the end of 2008 and hasn’t been renewed.

Now it falls to Warner Bros. to produce games based on the Lord of the Rings property as they now hold the rights.

With the Hobbit movies due for release in 2011 and 2012 could this be a mistake on EA’s behalf?

On a somewhat related note, EA still own the rights for the Harry Potter license.
