This week I have been doing something I am a little ashamed to talk about. It’s something that I have done on and off since the early 1990′s and starting doing on a regular basis last August. I know I am not alone in doing this, although I feel the numbers of people who partake in what I have been partaking in are dwindling. Last August I didn’t realise I needed to hide my little problem, but then I told a couple of people at work and I got mocked. Ever since I have been a little coy about who I told, but now I want to come clean.
For my birthday last year, my work colleagues were nice enough to give me a £20 voucher to spend on DVDs. I thought I would try and get a TV series mainly because I have chosen not to receive regular TV broadcasts in my household (how do people have time to watch 3-4 hours of TV a day?), so it’s nice to catch up on some stuff. As there wasn’t anything new that I wanted to buy, I was looking through the bargain section, and that’s where it started.
Why am I scared to admit that I have finally gotten into watching the X-Files? It was a hugely successful TV series ‘back in the day’ and I have to say that since buying series one on DVD I have recently picked up series two on VHS for less than the price of a Venti Latte! That’s it, its out. I have spent an hour a night watching X-Files series two from VHS. I have absolutely loved it! I have yet to develope a crush on Gillian Anderson, her outfits are just too ‘power dressing’ to do anything for me, but my Wife has recently admitted that she wouldn’t have been as keen to join me in my retro TV extravaganza if it weren’t for a childhood crush on David Duchovny!
There isn’t much point talking about the content of the programs, most of you will either know them inside out or have developed an opinion to turn you against the X-Files already. I have to say that I am not to keen on some of the episodes, but the ones that involve aliens are my favourite!
Do you have a TV guilty pleasure? Use the comments to confess all.

I think you maybe right, unless the local charity/thrift shop has seasons three and four – I wont be watching any more!
You got some very frustrating evenings ahead of you. My advice; watch two more seasons and then walk away…
