Star Trek actor Chris Pine, who plays Captain Kirk in the upcoming remake has denied reports that he has been offered the role of Green Lantern.

Speaking to MTV.com, Pine had this to say when asked whether or not he would play the iconic superhero…

“No, I had a meeting with casting director Pam Dixon and Donald De Line (the executive producer), but a meeting was all it was. I have not been offered squat. I do not have the part and haven’t read a script.”

Okay fair enough, but then he added…

“I’m not a big comic-book fan, I’m a fan of stories. So if there’s a story to be told, I love to tell a good story. But there’s not a particular superhero or comic book character that I’d like to play.”

“I’m a fan of stories”?

What a stupid thing to say…
