Apparently, the Internet deumanizes the human race, according to Keira Knightley anyway…
So, doesn’t that make us all animals?
“I hate the Internet. I find it dehumanizing to constantly check emails or social sites which have become so fashionable.” Said the star to British newspaper The Daily Telegraph.
Dehumanizes the human race?
I can’t believe how offensive that is.
To have Miss Knightley call me, (us) animals is, well, not very nice is it?
Anyway, must dash, I have to rub some ointment on my knuckles, they’re beginning to chafe from all the walking I’ve been doing lately…

well she’s quite right, the internet is driving people crazy sometimes and teenegers are being affcted and some ppl are jst getting heartless and young ppl r doing less outdoor activities as They r always infront of the computers, its jst so addicting! lyk facebook hehe! but again she shouldnt have mentioned the term “animal” but yea interent IS useful but you have to take the good side of it and use it in a balanced way! xD
I can definitely understand her point of view, although she did say it harshly. I believe that technology in general, not just the internet, can be “dehuminizing” if we use it too much. I mean, I’ve seen two kids my age [thirteen, btw] texting each other… and they were sitting right next to each other. Now, does that mean we need to stop using technology? No. It just means that we should limit how often we’re on the internet, or texting, or watching TV. So, I mean, being on the internet CAN be “dehuminizing” if we use it too often. There’s really no need to get defensive about it guys.
…Personally, I know I’m on MySpace too much of the time. I love the internet, even though I know I shouldn’t be on it as much as I am. It’s a-freakin’-ddicting. ^.^

I don't agree with it, but she can have her own opinion. I agree with TINTAM, she probably means gossiping.
Ok firstly, she did not specifically say 'the internet is for animals'…..that's just how you may have interpreted it.
I think what Keira meant when she said she finds the internet dehumanizing is that it takes away from socialising with friends in person or over the phone, thus engaging in real life human experience. To constantly be on facebook or checking emails as way of communication tends to limit us socially.
