Universal Pictures are remaking the 1983 David Cronenberg classic Videdrome.

Writing duties have been given to Ehren Kruger, who was responsible for the poor Scream 3 while Daniel Bobker (The Brothers Grimm) will produce.

The original movie saw James Woods star as the head of Civic TV Channel 83 who produced the show Videodrome which depicted torture and murder in a bid to win more ratings.

As of yet, original director David Cronenberg is not attached to the project in any way.
