Kevin Smith is making a hockey movie.

The movie will be set in the late 70′s before the NHL swallowed up all the major teams.

“It takes place during the last gasp of the goon era of hockey when it was all about fighting.” Said Smith talking to Worst Previews.

Already there’s been talk of awards for the movie, which will focus more on drama than comedy.

“I never once thought about winning awards or anything, but that movie I think can do it. If I play my cards right and we get the right people in it, it could be an award-type movie.”
