Neve Campbell To Return For Scream 4?
Despite director Wes Craven’s claims that Neve Campbell will not be reprising her role as Sidney Prescott for the upcoming Scream 4, the screenwriter for the project, Kevin Williamson (Dawson’s Creek, Scream 1,2,3) has been twittering about the difficulties he’s been having writing a Scream screenplay without her character.
Speaking on his Twitter page he said, “Trying to figure out a Sid-less scenario, this sucks.”
Defending the tweet, Williamson talked to Pop Wrap and had this to say…
“I’ve had numerous conversations with Neve. She’s a friend. Nicest girl on the planet. It just ain’t workin’ out and it sucks for me. It was no cameo. I’d never play Sid out that way. And I ain’t got no Sid-less scenario. So, I don’t know yet what to do. Hate all the wrong info circulating. My fault. There’s a learning curve with Twitter. I gotta watch it.”
So far only Courtney Cox and David Arquette who played reporter Gale Weathers and Deputy Dewey respectively have been confirmed to return to the series.
