Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen director Michael Bay claims that his movies made stars like Nic Cage, Will Smith, Ben Affleck and Shia Labeouf the stars they are today.

Speaking to the Wall Street Journal, Bay had this to say…

“Nic Cage wasn’t a big actor when I cast him [in The Rock], nor was Ben Affleck before I put him in Armageddon,Shia LaBeouf wasn’t a big movie star before he did Transformers – and then he exploded. Not to mention Will Smith and Martin Lawrence from Bad Boys.”

He then went on to talk about Megan Fox who has recently criticized Bay by saying that his movies don’t offer any real acting opportunities…

“Nobody in the world knew about Megan Fox until I found her and put her in Transformers. I like to think that I’ve had some luck in building actors’ careers with my films.”

At first all of the above sounds pretty pretentious but a quick check on IMDB and everything he’s said pretty much checks out.
