Modern Warfare 2 Going To Sell For £54.99 In UK, That’s 90 Bucks Folks!
Activision have announced that their upcoming Call of Duty – Modern Warfare 2 is going to retail in the UK at the staggeringly high price point of £54.99 which, according to my Google currency converter is a whopping 90 bucks!
This price hike has been rumored for some time in the UK but the actual announcement has still come as a shock.
Seriously, how can Activision, whose previous two Call of Duty games sold over 14 million copies, hide behind the global economic recession when the title they are about to release is going to sell at least 8 million copies?
Activision are being greedy, it’s as simple as that. I understand that a public limited company is all about profits but sometimes, increasing profits isn’t always the best way to grow your business, sometimes you’ve got to take one on the chin.
And this is one of those occasions where Activision need to bend over and take one for the team. Raising the price of this year’s most anticipated game by 30% is taking advantage of the very people they need to be looking after.
We here at Nerdles encourage every UK gamer to not buy Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on release. We encourage you to wait a couple of weeks until Activsion are forced to lower the price to the more traditional RRP of £39.99.
If we all rush out and buy Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on day one then we’re effectively telling all the games’ publishers that we are prepared to pay £54.99 for every tripple A title from now on.
Please don’t let them get away with this!
Let’s boycott the buggers!
