Russell Crowe has confirmed that he is in talks to make another Master and Commander movie, which if I’m honest has gotten me pretty excited.

I loved the first one, Crowe as the embittered Captain struggling to maintain optimism while the waves crashed around them.  Tense stuff.

Yep, loved it.

So the thought that I’m going to get more of these, like I said, has gotten me a bit excited.

Anyway, Crowe said that the talks have “a long way to go” before anything is finalized.

Though I must admit to being somewhat suprised that a studio is willing to go near a project like this, traditionally water-based movies have a tendency to go way over budget and with Master and Commander not exactly having mass appeal, it makes you wonder if this movie will ever see the light of day.

Personally, I’m going to cross my fingers on this one but I won’t hold my breath.
