Bruce Lee’s brother and sister, Robert and Phoebe, announced on monday at a Beijing press conference that they and JA Media are planning on developing a trilogy of movies based on the Kung Fu icon’s life.

Yep, not one movie, not even two movies, but three of the buggers!

Zhang Yimou (House of the Flying Daggers) is the favorite to direct the movies while as of yet, only Tony Leung Ka-fai has been cast. Ka-Fai will play Lee’s father.

Quite why they think Lee’s life story needs three movies when such fellow icons like Howard Hughes and Charlie Chaplin only needed one is anyone’s guess. Sounds like a long drawn-out overkill to me.

Still, if it’s better than Dragon, then it will be worth a look-see.
