Rob Moore, the vice chairman over at Paramount, has confirmed that a sequel to GI Joe, which only released this past weekend, will soon go into development.

Yep, Paramount know when they got a hit on their hands and Moore said that regardless of whether or not Stephen Sommers (the director) signs up for it, the sequel is going to happen.

Sommers, who unlike the cast, isn’t contractually obliged to make any sequels, has yet to comment on whether or not he’ll come back for a sequel although he did recently state that he’d like to explore more of the background behind the GI Joe team, which means it’s basically a case of him and the studio sitting down and thrashing out a new contract.
