The upcoming remake of the 1984 classic Red Dawn is coming along quite nicely. Due to go into production next month, the final casting call is underway.

But, even though the casting process hasn’t completed yet, some juicy news has leaked out in regards to three actors who have officially signed up.

So, without further ado, here they are…

First up is Chris Hemsworth who you guys may remember playing Captain Kirk’s dad in the recent Star Trek reboot. He is also due to play Thor in Kenneth Branagh’s movie adaptation of the Marvel comic hero.

Next we’ve got Josh Peck, who I must admit I’m not that overly familiar with but a quick search on IMDB informed me that he’d played Eddie in all three Ice Age movies as well as showing up in stuff like ER, Family Guy, What’s Up Scooby Do? and MADtv among others. Oh, he was in that Mean Creek movie a couple of years back where a bully got killed, it was quite moving.

Anyway, finally we’ve got Adrianne Palicki. Now at first I couldn’t really place her by name but after a google image search I instantly remembered her as that chick off Friday Night Lights and I was surprised to learn that she did some work on Robot Chicken which I’ve completely blanked on.

So, for now that’s all you’re getting but as Red Dawn has been flagged by Nerdles.com as one of the movies to look out for in 2010, we’ll keep you posted on any new developments as they happen.
