Daniel Radcliffe has ruled himself out of the running to play Bilbo Baggins in Guillermo Del Torro’s The Hobbit.

Speaking to the LA Times, he had this to say…

“I’d have to say, ‘thanks but no thanks,’ not that anyone has asked me. Honestly, I don’t think they would want me anyway, it’s just too close. Whatever I do next, I don’t think there will be any wizards in it!” (Spoken like a true Griffindor if you ask me)

It’s good to see a young actor like Radcliffe being sensible and trust me, turning down the Baggins role IS sensible, regardless of how big the movie turns out to be.

It’s bad enough that he’ll very likely never shake of the Harry Potter role without adding the most famous Hobbit of them all to his resume.

Well done Harry, your parents would be proud.
