Zachary Quinto, who played Spock in the recent Star Trek reboot has been talking to Sci-Fi Wire about the sequel. He had this to say…

“Star Trek is a priority, certainly, but I don’t think anybody’s in a hurry. Of course, the fans and the studio would love it to come out next summer if it could.

“I think it’s going to be much better served by taking time and being clear about the story that they want to tell. Whether or not that involves Khan or Mr Shatner remains to be seen.”

Shatner AND Khan in the sequel?

JJ Abrams recently confirmed that he was thinking about bringing Shatner into the sequel, much in the same way that they shoe-horned Leonard Nimoy into the first movie.  For me personally, yeah I do want to see Shatner have a role in upcoming Trek movies but I think it would be too much to have him in the next one. I’d hate to see that the first two movies of the reboot have plots that focus heavily on time-travel elements. Maybe throw Shatner into the third movie and give Khan next time round?

Now that would make me happy.
