If you haven’t yet gotten around to watching District 9 then stop reading this right now, get your coat on and get your ass over to your nearest cinema and watch the bugger coz seriously, it’s one of the best movies of the year.

Right, now that’s out of the way we can get on with the rest of the article.

Neill Blomkamp, the writer and director of District 9, has gone on record saying that while a sequel to the sci-fi hit is a distinct possibility, personally he would rather make a prequel.

How cool is that?

Though if the choice was mine, I would much rather see a sequel than a prequel, I mean, they covered the prequelly-type topics pretty well in the first movie didn’t they? What else could they add that would offer intrigue?

As for a sequel, well, there are a whole laundry list of possible story arcs they could explore that would have me interested, top of which is a classic Invasion arc.
