Fox are developing the cult 1989 movie Heathers into a TV series.

The original movie, which starred Christian Slater and Winona Ryder as a couple of teenagers who kill their fellow schoolmates will be adapted for TV by Mark Rizzo.

The characters; Veronica Sawyer and J.D, played by Ryder and Slater respectively, will return and the plot of the TV show will follow the movie’s quite closely albeit somewhat slower.

The original movie was directed by Michael Lehmann and written by Daniel Waters. No news yet with regards to casting as this project is at the very beginning of development.

This sounds like it could be a Dexter for the O.C crowd if you ask me…
