A couple of weeks back, Warner Bros walked away from the He-Man and the Masters of the Universe movie and left the project in limbo but now it seems the project is back on with the news that Sony are, at this moment in time, finalizing a deal with Mattel to produce.

John Stevenson had been attached to direct the pic but it seems he too has left the project but with the news that Sony could be heading the developing through their Columbia Pictures wing, expect some extensive name-dropping to happen very soon.

Sony and Escape Artists’ Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch will develop the property from scratch.
