Fox Acquires The Rights For ‘Spore The Movie’!
Twentieth Century Fox are teaming up with Electronic Arts to produce a CGI movie based on EA’s popular Spore franchise.
Spore The Movie will be written by ‘The Princess and the Frog’ writers Greg Erb and Jason Oremland while Ice Age’s Chris Wedge will direct.
Blue Sky Studios, who are responsible for the Ice Age franchise will oversee the production.
So far Spore has sold a whopping 3.2 million copies across all platforms and Lucy Bradshaw, who is the VP of Maxis Studio (Spore’s developers) feels that a Spore movie is a natural progression for the game…
“With more than 100 million unique creatures uploaded to our website, it’s clear that people are passionate about the game, and it will be exciting to offer a powerful medium like film in order to expand their experience with ‘Spore’.”
