New Line Cinema are developing a new Nation Lampoon’s Vacation movie.

Based on the classic Vacation franchise which saw Chevy Chase play Clarke Griswold, the new Vacation movie will kind of act like a reboot. The plot will focus on Rusty, the son of Chevy Chase’s Clark and follow his adventures as he takes his own family on a madcap vacation.

As of yet both Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo are still to sign on to the project but the cynic in me has to believe that neither have anything better to do with their time.

David Dobkin (Wedding Crashers, Mr. Woodcock) is attached to produce and could even direct. At this moment in time New Line are looking for writers.
