The Sims Creator Will Wright Discusses His Future Plans…
The Sims and Spore creator Will Wright recently had a chat with VentureBeat in which he sort of discussed his next three projects.
Back in April, Wright left EA, with whom he created both The Sims and Spore, to create his own development company; Stupid Fun Club. Since then speculation has slowly grown about what projects the gaming-god was working on.
Wright had this to say when asked when gamers could expect to see his next game…
“We are taking the games industry into other areas. We are expanding what we call the ‘play industry’. Our first product could be commercialized in six months to a year.”
So, no real information there then?
Wright went on to state that whatever projects his new company produces, they won’t be able to be defined as simply console or online games…
“Those are both experiences where you sit in front of the screen. They’re very structured activities. I’m thinking much broader than that.”
What the hell does that mean?
