It’s become something of a tradition in the video games industry that sequels to popular games take two years to produce. (Obviously I’m not counting Left4Dead and the Call of Duty franchise)

So, it’s come as something of a surprise that the rumor mill is beginning to churn with the news that developer Guerrilla are busying away at Killzone 3 with a view to a 2010 release.

The rumor was reported on CVG who in turn took it from the US Official Playstation Magazine.

In a feature entitled ‘The Secret Games Of 2010′ the magazine hinted that Killzone 3 was deep in development.

The more I think about it, the more next year’s date makes sense for Sony. They will want to capitalize on the Uncharted 2 momentum with another first party triple A title and Killzone fits the bill perfectly.

Fingers crossed this one is true eh?
