Will Shatner Be In The Next Star Trek Movie?

Three words muttered by Star Trek director JJ Abrams have sent the Trekkies, or Trekkers, into rumor over-drive.
Those words?
“Open to anything”
So, in the eyes of Star Trek fans everywhere that can mean only one thing; William Shatner will return as Captain Kirk for Star Trek 2.
The way JJ Abrams positioned the franchise at the end of the first movie leaves the door open for any of the original cast (who are still alive obviously) to cameo as future versions of themselves, so why not Shatner?
Personally, I got pretty fed up with the time travel elements by the end of the first movie and would hate to have to endure any more time travel plots.
Even though Abrams is “open to anything” I personally don’t believe he’ll give us any cameos from the original crew next time around, perhaps Star Trek 3 he might, but not Star Trek 2…
What is the rumor about the new Star Trek TV show coming out? My brother has been talking about it all day, can’t be true, right?

There’s been talk about it for a while, I think they’ll go after the Smallville crowd and set it in Starfleet Academy, kind of cross it between traditional Star Trek and the OC
Does not matter that kirk died,leave time travel alone!
Simply have Pine take shuttle into cosmic cloud that accelerates his aging process! ta da Shatner comes back on bridge! Great entrance sequence! Just a sub plot so he can cameo quckly whilt bones corrects things! Just a thought!
Kirk prime could be spat out of the nexus if I spelled that correctly ? As the time line has changed kirk never entered the nexus and as time has no meaning there as gynan said. Kirk winds up in a distant out post and is discovered by a federation ship. With almost total memory loss and having lived with alien collonists for several years he is reunited with Spock prime who mind melds with him to return his memory ! Not too pleased with his altered history kirk prime goes a bit bad and tries to devise a way to restore the timeline ! Cue face off between two jim kirks in a film I am calling Star Treck XII The Wrath of Kirk ! Opininions?
