I’m getting pretty excited about New Super Mario Bros Wii. At this moment in time all the major press outlets are busy reviewing in time for it’s November 15th release.

But, I did read something that has raised my eyebrows about the game; CVG have reported that the reviewer for the Official Nintendo Magazine claimed that the game is a mere six hours long.

Now, I wasn’t expecting it to be as longs as say a Fallout 3, of course that would be ridiculous, what I was expecting was something in the region of a ten hour experience.

Six hours feels like DLC to me and considering New Super Mario Bros. Wii is a day one purchase, I’m pretty miffed that the game can be ploughed through so quickly.

Anyway, here’s what the reviewer actually said…

“It took me around six hours to complete, but that was blitzing through it and not collecting the Star Coins. That will easily add another seven or eight hours to the proceedings, because you’ll obviously have to play through most of the levels again and some of the coins are in really awkward positions this time,”

Okay, maybe I’m over-reacting but I’m one of those gamers who likes to blitz through games and very rarely, barring the Ratchet and Clank series do I go back.

Maybe I’ll just rent it?
