Is Goldeneye Heading For The Wii?
By
Lately it has become something of a trend for news outlets to pour over games industry professionals’ CV’s for any sort of juicy game gossip. See, with CV’s, as you know, you explain your most recent job positions in a bid to impress your prospective employers and naturally, you’ll try and give as much details as you can about your previous (or current) assignment.
Well, the latest CV to hit the web belongs to one Craig Peck who has put down on his CV that he worked as an animator…
“On Activision’s James Bond series for the Nintendo Wii.”
He went on to describe his duties which involved…
“key frame animation, the preparation and clean-up of motion capture data, prop animation, in-game cut-scene animation, scene layout, and camera animation.”
Okay, but where does it say that the project is the classic N64 Goldeneye?
Well, it doesn’t. I just wanted to mislead you. The CV refers to the project as ‘Goldeneye 2010′ and appears to be, other than the title, in no way related to Rare’s classic, in fact, it seems that Goldeneye 2010 is merely an attempt by Activision to cash in on the cult status of said N64 version.
Back in 2005 EA released the rather poor Goldeneye: Rogue Agent and it looks like Activsion are going to try and do the same thing by using the Goldeneye branding to generate of couple of extra sales.
Pointless.
