Big news for ‘Boosh fans – Noel Fielding and Julian Barratt say they’ve started working on a film version of ‘The Mighty Boosh’.
The comedy duo were tight-lipped about the new project at the premiere of new movie ‘Bunny and the Bull’, a film by Mighty Boosh director Paul King which both Noel and Julian have small parts in.
Noel Fielding said
“We’re writing a film at the moment and an album, so hopefully next year. Both of those things.”
Boosh partner-in-crime Julian Barratt added,
“We’ve been very inspired by this (film) because we’ve been doing the show and touring a lot and we’ve finally got round to writing.
We try and do, on TV, quite magical epic journeys and we thought if you’re doing a film we should really do it in one room, basically just kind of a sitcom for 90 minutes.
So we might do that. We might do exactly what we didn’t do on TV.”
They also moved to dispell fears they were about to split up their partnership.
“We’re still together,”
Julian Barratt added.
“It’s like we’re twins, we’re kind of symbiotically linked… if he drinks I get drunk. Like E.T. and Elliott.”
Bunny and the Bull is released in the UK on 27 November.

Seriously, this is evolving into something very big. The MB is so unique and so flexible in that the writers should have endless plots and come out on top in every show. I would like to see the characters in a western here in the US great west maybe seeking treasure or to save aunt Linnies ranch from the evil sheriff, who knows but the sky is the limit so you guys and gals can’t go wrong. You’re a natural team come together under the stars and the Moon and gave us something really entertaining that’s a nice change to the usual cliché shows. I see a very bright future ahead for you all. I can’t wait to hear some of the sound tracks you’ll hopefully be coming out with as well, maybe introduce or show some of the great bands and musicians of the past, I could go on and on…
