Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen DVD Sells 7.5 Million Copies In First Week!
It seems that there’s a lot of masochists out there with the news that Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen shipped a whopping 7.5 million units in it’s first week of retail. Despite the movie generally getting panned by the critics, it appears that people can’t get enough of the Transformers. I fear that the impressive box office haul coupled with these sales will only encourage director Michael Bay to churn out another poor effort when he starts work on Transformers 3. With the first week’s haul behind it, the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen DVD is already the best selling DVD of the year, which sometimes makes me wonder if there is no justice in…
Ridley Scott Talks Alien Prequel…
Ridley Scott recently had a chat with EMPIRE in which he revealed that work has begun on the Alien prequel script with Jon Spaihts doing the first draft. He also gave a couple of hints what we can expect when the movie comes out… “It’s a brand new box of tricks. We know what the road map is, and the screenplay is now being put on paper. The prequel will be a while ago. It’s very difficult to put a year on Alien, but, for example, if Alien was towards the end of this century, then the prequel story will take place thirty years prior.” Um, okay… Not much real info then? New Bioshock 2 Multiplayer Trailer!
There’s a lot of apprehension regarding the multiplayer element for Bioshock 2. To many, it seems that 2K are “tacking on” the multiplayer component in a effort to simply “tick all the boxes”. Me? It looks pretty cool… httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uqcARI8PU64 Tweet This Post

The much talked about Dune remake has run into some difficulties. The project, which is sitting on a $175 million budget has lost its director. Peter Berg, who directed Hancock and The Kingdom amongst others, has reportedly left the project to make, get this; a movie based on the board game Battleship. Anyway, Dune is now in need of a director and the producers are looking for a director who can… A. – “put the movie together for under $175 million. And B. – “someone who already has a preexisting passion for the novel and is enthusiastic about the project.” The two early front runners for the directors chair are District 9′s Neill Blompkamp and…
Madness! Willem Dafoe Was Nearly Batman!
Willem Dafoe has revealed that he was nearly cast as Batman. But not THAT Batman, Michael Keaton’s Batman way back in 1989. Yep, back when Tim Burton was looking for his Batman, Dafoe’s name was considered. Take a read of what Dafoe had to say about it… “Very early, they talked to me about playing Batman. I hate to spread these things because unless you remember it well, you’re stoking the fires of bullshit. But I remember it. I’ve had my brush with these things.” Shocking as it may seem now, I have to wonder if it would have made a difference back then? Dafoe eventually got to appear in a Superhero movie when he…
